How can i get a patch to know wheter a signal is still being refreshed?

I'm working on tracking with blobs and displaying a circle on this blob sized accroding to the area of the blob, but when a leaves the screen it stays somewhere on the screen. The same is true for when blobs join together. A paused circle is then visible beneath the bigger circle (based on the bigger blob)
