Launch URL / HTTP browser from Max/Jitter?

February 6, 2007 | 6:32 am

I’m trying to open an HTTP browser from Max/Jitter on an Intel Mac, including passing a changeable message to it that will open a specified URL. (Actually, I could have the browser already open manually. The big need is to be able to post HTTP data like a form to a URL.)

The LaunchURL external does this, but not on Intel Mac. jit.uldl uploads FTP, but HTTP is only supported via downloads. mxj.syscommand could be used to exec a script that launches a browser with a URL call, but it doesn’t work on Intel Mac. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Jeff

hi Jeff, use the "; max launchbrowser" message.
p109 "Messages to Max" in the max Topics.
[sprintf] for dynamic messages.
