I'm not sure if there's something I'm missing, but I can't seem to get data to go to the LCD object without first clicking in it with the mouse. I want to automate it so that it begins in the corner (like 0, 0) and then reset the coordinate on a timer, so that the data I send stays inside the LCD box. I'm sending text to the LCD object, if that helps. Thanks so much to anyone who can give me feedback!

you might want to post a patch. This might clarify a bit what you're trying to achieve.

i have some of the help menu patches added in; im pretty sure that's why there's something im overlooking. i haven't used the lcd object much in the past.

Try sending something like "clear, moveto 10 20" before you send the actual text, this will update the position properly. The [trigger] object might also be useful for maintaing message order. I assume you're going to be doing more with the [lcd] than just display this text, if not you could just use [prepend set] and the [comment] object instead.
