Just wondering what the absolute cheapest (memory-wise) way to send a bang every 2 minutes or so, indefinitely? Line with the grain set to a particular setting? Metro? qmetro?

I've always wondered but this is the first time when I want an action to be as discrete as possible.

i think i even did that for an installation once.

if you want to interact with it more than bang every 2 mins, in max6 you'll just be able to use a normal phasor~, but in max5 you could also use hr.phasor~

well, using the max scheduler is fine if your need does not include complete timing accuracy. e.g., if you just need a bang very very roughly somewhere in the region of every 2 mins, for some sort of periodic visual trigger or so. but you can't use it for anything remotely approaching accuracy. i maybe (mis)assumed the application (what it is needed for), but that is why i suggested cpuclock (efficient) and/or hr.phasor~ (dsp).

i guess you do say "every 2 minutes or so", fair enough, in that case i would just use a qmetro or christopher's solution. is it for an installation? the only reason i am obnoxiously replying is because i have made a few different sorts of installations where timing accuracy was paramount and multiple computers were sync-ed as well, and this stuff interests me.
