November 5, 2009 | 12:13 pm

Hey..

its pretty easy to send data from the launchpad to max…

but according to this:
"Programmers can utilise variable brightness and multi-colour LED states to their full advantage when designing new and innovative tools in Max MSP and Reaktor."

how can i send data from max to my launchpad?
iam not sure what msgs it needs.. it sends simple midi notes… but recieving simple midi notes… nothing is happening..

do i / we need automap for this? maybe even the PRO version?

thanks for any suggestion

bye

You can just double-click on the midiout or noteout object, and that will give you the menu where you can select the output device.

you don’t need to use automap.

the launchpad will respond to regular midi data. for example if you press the top right button (on the grid, not the circular button) it will send out note 0 at 127 velocity. if you send note 0 from max back to the launch pad, it will light the light… what color it lights depends on the velocity. 15=red 60=green etc. There’s a pdf file available from novation that details all of the midi messages the launchpad can receive.
