i want to paint with light over a live input video.

in theory, i thought analysing the jit.qt.grab matrix and telling another matrix to memorise pixels according to their brightness would work. i planned to then fuse the two matrices in order to have only the lighter parts (the light strokes) of the analysing matrix displayed for a longer time and the live input matrix display behind it.

summary: light strokes should stay on screen. darker, or normally bright pixels should refresh normally.
