The documentation for the buffer~ object indicates that it should be possible to load raw files into the buffer~. However, the read message only allows audio files to be loaded. With that said, how would one load a raw file into the buffer~?

I have been able to load raw files into an sfplay~ object without any problems. However, the use of the sfplay~ object requires that the files be played back in realtime, whereas playing via a groove~ object would allow for more of a non-linear approach to playback. As a result, it is really a non-option.

Any ideas are more than appreciated and welcome.
