log to linear?

September 28, 2007 | 12:08 am

Hi,

I’m using a bunch of 10k potentiometers with an arduino to control my
jitter patch. I thought they were linear pots, but the data I am
getting in jitter (max) seems to be log (dunno what base).

Does anyone know of a simple way to convert this back to linear data?
I’ve tried a bunch of things with expr, but my math skills, well… I
think I can manage if pointed in the right direction.

Apologies if this should go to the max list instead.

I would replace the pots. Even if you do the math in jitter you are
going to get very reduced data resolution in the high end of the
register, due to the a-d conversion.

I realize this may not come across as overly helpful… sorry.
Andreas.
