Looking for a way to HALF or DOUBLE the tempo of individual MIDI TRACKS?

November 3, 2013 | 2:11 pm

something like this:

http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/1239/doubletempo

but so it doesn’t affect the Master Tempo. I’m trying to get sequencers and sliced loops found within Kontakt and Reaktor to behave at different speeds than the Master Tempo of the song project. There must be a way to modify the above device to do this, however, I have zero Max programming skills (at the moment).

any help here or suggestions would be great – i think this would be a handy device to have, no?

all the best,

graham

can’t be done, as I see it. Live can only have one tempo at a time, and you can’t intercept and change the main tempo going into plugins.

Or act on the clips themselves : get the notes and change their lengths ?

You can just click on the *2 /2 buttons in the clip view…

That’s not clips; that’s the inner workings of plugins.

Not what youre looking for but I rigged a program called auto mouse clicker to click things like midi *2 /2 with hot heys, then use bomes to midi map it. Also works with duplicate, invert and reverse. Speeds up editing a lot.

If youve got something in reaktor or kontact you want to half or double maybe you could resample the audio and then slice it to a rack and use the *2 /2 button.
