i'm trying to build some kind of sampler which would allow me to play loops taken from a [buffer~] at any length and starting anywhere in the sample. i try to achieve that using the [groove~] object

it works quite fine, the problem is when i try to start the loop near the end of the sample, i get a loop end point later than the end of the sample. so i put it back from the start of the sample and i get a loop start point later than the loop end point, and [groove~] doesn't play anything this way

is there a way i could do that with [groove~] or is there a better object (e.g. an object dedicated to granular synthesis i could use really simply) that would do the trick ?

ps : i tried to do this making [groove~] loops through the whole sample and using [qmetro] to reset the playback at regular interval (my loop time), but the audible result is not regular enough....

You could use wave~ and fold a signal outside the 0 1 range. Example would start at 75% of the buffertime and play to end and then play anoother 25% at the begining. Use the Info~ object to calculate your real ms and the ramp time.

unfortunately i miss some nice functionalities using wave~ i can get with groove~
