LyonPotpourri 2.0 Externals now available

My updated LyonPotpourri objects are now available in OS X Universal Binary format over here: http://tinyurl.com/y6vo28

This updated collection contains all of the sample accurate externals discussed in my recent ICMC paper on sample accurate triggering (http://tinyurl.com/t2fk6) as well as some other previously unreleased externals that may be of interest.

Binaries have not yet been compiled for the Windows version of MaxMSP. However, this release includes a free, open source distribution of the code, thus any Windows developer is welcome to compile a Windows build and make it available. If you are interested to do so, please let me know – it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Micha,

If you compile some or all of the externals successfully, could you kindly wrap them up and email them to me so I can make them available for other Window users? Thanks!

Eric

Thanks for catching that. I’ll upload it here and add it into the distribution tomorrow.

looks great.

One question though, adsr~ and stutter~ are they identical with the
official cycling versions? elsewise its better to rename them…
Could lead to confusions elsewise…

Sorry, responded before opening the collection. The Website made me
assume these are the real names…. ;-)

No problem. Those *are* the real names. I only put a prefix on the compiled externals to avoid conflicts with any official externals that have the good taste to use the same names that I did.

Best,

Eric

I don’t see any reason why not. It sounds like you have the tools for the job.

I can’t load any of the externals (on XP).
It says :

error: Error 14001 loading external

hm, can you be a little bit more specific (do other externals work, etc)? i haven’t heard of problems loading the externals yet, and the error message doesn’t tell that much…

PowerPC machines, right ?
Unfortunately, the objects doesn’t work on my G5 2x2Ghz :-(

I use Max/MSP 4.5.7 on a window XP laptop.

Passed verions worked fine, FFTease work fine, other third party externals work fine too. Pretty strange.

Eric,
The .zip for Windows is empty when downloaded on my XP system and gives an error when I open on my Intel Mac.

hmmm, i downloaded it again, works perfectly! maybe your download is broken and you should give it another try…

I have confirmed that on OS X, attempting to open the Zip file with Stufflt Expander returns an error. However the commandline program unzip correctly unzips the file.

I found a zip archive of a different build that seems to unzip either way.

Those of you who experienced unzip failure, please let us know which program you used to attempt to open the file.

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,
I’m trying to open it with 7-Zip 4.42
http://www.7-zip.org/
It works with WinZip. Thanks for the tip!

hm, i zipped it either with winrar or the internal zip function of speedcommander, can’t remember…hmmmm, maybe there are some nasty incompatibilities within the zip format.

if there are more people having problems with that, i could do a repack.

all the best

micha
