M-Audio Fast Track Pro 4 channel output question

November 17, 2010 | 7:01 pm

I have an M-audio Fast Track Pro with Max 5.1.5, OSX 10.5.8. I’m trying to play 4 channels of mono sound.

In the OS audio setup, I can play sounds independently through each speaker, it’s super!

In Max however, when I select the Fast Track as my driver, I have some problems. Setting up a simple gate~ to drive sound independently to each of the speakers (with [dac~ 1 2 3 4]), I hear bleed on the speakers that are not supposed to be playing sound.

How can I set up the audio system to get the proper signal to each of the outputs?

Hi,

Did you correctly set the I/O mappings?

i.e., in DSP status -> I/O Mappings -> output map
you should have 1->1 ; 2->2 ; 3->3 ; 4->4

Yes, Those are all mapped correctly.

Sorry for the noise, the culprit was faulty wiring.
