I am diving in to programming the Push with M4L (I have a bunch of old launchpad patches, as well as some new ideas), and am looking to grab control/observe various buttons on the push.

I have successfully grabbed and observed the button matrix, and the tap tempo button. I am using the tap tempo button for switching between native control, and custom control. everything is working as expected.

I have grabbed the first track select button (reffered to as Track_Select_Button0) but can not observe it. When I send the object a ’getinfo’ message, it tells me its type is ’Push’. When I getinfo on the button matrix, it tells me the type is ’ButtonMatrix’ which makes sense. I remember previously that the tap tempo button returned its type as 'configurableButtonElement' but it also returns its type as 'Push' now. Which is bizarre, considering I can still observe that one....

I just posted this exact question on the ableton beta forums, but I thought mabe some of the bright minds over here would have some advice.
