I've noticed that the API devices in M4L are MAJOR CPU hogs, such as the 'Max API CtrlMIDInote' device or the 'Max API AMap4'

What gives?? What can I do to make it so that these two programs do not take up MASSIVE amounts of CPU power, the equivalent of a third party synth work-station for each instance???
