Here, too—I get them when I post something. Just sent a question to Support (before I saw this post, doh). Hope it gets cleared up. Some kind of weird spyware that intercepts the postings? Ach… some people have too much time on their hands.

The problem is that someone has:

A. subscribed to the list
B. began forwarding their list mail to submissionform@outblaze.com, which
C. auto-responds to every post.

I’ve been wrangling with Outblaze.com’s support staff for 2 weeks now, and
they’ve basically told me that there’s nothing they can do. I suggested if they
were to simply examine the mail headers I sent them, they could easily determine
the source, but I guess grepping through logs is too much trouble for them, as
is adding any kind of safeguard to their auto-responder scripts. I also asked
them to simply block any mail coming in addressed to a cycling74.com address,
but they don’t want to do that either, I guess.

I think I’ve figured out a way to smoke out the gremlin, and I appreciate your
patience in the meantime.

It’s not spyware, just some careless person’s mail forward (and a drawback of
mailing lists).

cheers

The gremlin has been removed, and my apologies for the inconvenience. It’s not
clear whether it was a spammer or a troll, but they’re gone.

If you find yourself receiving auto-replies from a generic address like this one
again, please don’t hesitate to let me that it’s happening (email me directly).

cheers
