Make Controller udpsend/rec

Hi list,
a quick question for anyone that may have experience with the
udpsend/rec objects and Makingthings’ new fangdangled Make Controller.
I’ve had some success achieving comms via the mc.usb obj, but none so
far with upd. Having already gone through the setup procedure for the
board several times now ( erasing the program on the board, installing
heavy, setting up the IP in the network config in preferences and
‘debugging’ in mchelper) I now believe I need some advice.

Is there a way I can ping the board for its current IP from max? Also is
there a way I can reset this from max? I thought

/network/address 192.168.0.200
/network/gateway 192.168.0.1
/network/valid 1

via OSCusb would do it… but maybe not. If anyone has any
suggestions…

cheers

Maybe you already took a look at that page but I think the info you need is there: http://www.makingthings.com/makecontrollerkit/software/doc/html/group___network_o_s_c.html

To read the current adress, you only need to send this message: /network/address

well you can check your controllers settings by logging in to the
‘heavy’ application from a web browser.
BTW I think that you have to quit mchelper while running Max, as they
fight for the port.
