Do you guys have any idea how to influence the midi messages between a source controller and a sink application?

Lets assume you have an expression pedal that theoretically sends MIDI values from 0 to 127 but practically only goes up until 110 or something. If you now "midi learn" any application to work with that expression pedal you will never push this control beyond a value of 110.

There are several other use cases, like changing linear controllers to logarithmic ones, or just toggling between to values or whatever...

Could MAX full fill this man-in-the-middle manipulation?
