matrix allocation in memory

I made a patch and after closing it, I can make a new patcher and add a named matrix object (the name used in the original patcher) to the new patcher… strangely the new object will have the data and dimensions used in the original patcher, even if that is not present already…

Is it an expected behaviour or a bug? Is there a way i purge a matrix from memory?
