I'd like to save unique states of matrixctrl within of multiple instances of the same Max for Live device.

The most obvious solution would be a preset or pattrstorage, but I'm not sure how (or whether it's even possible) to give pattrstorage a variable name so that saved states remain unique to each instance. And in my experience, presets have been a bit problematic with Max for Live.

A push in the right direction would be much appreciated!
