i installed max 5 relatively recently, and just last night (im pretty sure for the first time since installing max 5) i tried to open a pluggo plugin in Live (though max 5 was running, but not in rewire mode) and got an error message from both live and pluggo telling me the plugin could not be loaded and to run the pluggo plugscan and contact support if that failed, which of course didnt help, and before i contact support i thought i'd try here...

the error was invalid plugin, or this is not a valid au, or something, and i received this error from both au and vst flavors of pluggo

(sorry i dont have the exact error message, im at work)

I tried quitting max 5 and loading pluggo in digital performer and got the same results

i dont remember reading anything about pluggo not working period with max 5 installed, just not *in* max 5 yet...

this is on a 15" mac book pro and am running leopard (which i think may be the problem because i had some errors durring the pluggo install though i was eventually able to get pluggo to work)

i'll repost the error message when i get home if necessary.

Yeah i still have 4.6 installed. are you on leopard too?

yup. try loading up one of the stock pluggos that come with the package.

actually this error happened initially when i attempted loading stock pluggos, after the first error i tried 7 or 8 random ones with the same effect. unfortunately i havent really developed any vst~'s of my own.

sry for the double post, poor choice of words. "with the same result" not using the same effect, jeez, i should know better.

Use the Cleaner which is inside the pluggo installer and reinstall.

There's no connection at all between Pluggo and Max 5 - I'd say it was a coincidence.

Maybe you also need to rescan your plug folders.

Well the clean and reinstall seems to have worked, why i didnt just try that in the first place is beyond me...

Current Pluggo does not work with Max5, right?

That's correct. There should be an update at some point soon, but for

now if you need Plugglo you'll have to use Max 4.6.
