Max 5 textedit bug?

April 26, 2008 | 10:16 am

Hi,
I think there ist a bug in "textedit". "Tab enters text" mode works as expected. "Return enters text" always outputs the last text that was succesfully send out the left outlet.

Just connect "textedit" to a "print", turn "Return enters text" on, type some text and hit return. See attached "Textedit bug.maxpat".

And what does FFTNR mean?

"Fried For The Next Ready-meal" ?

rather : "Fixed For The Next Release"

Sorry, this had to be written so many times during the testing period
- so the compressed version has become a gimmick.

My favorite thing along these lines was FFTNW (which I assume means
fixed for the next whatever)

It works as expected for me if the text changes.

If the text has not changed and I want to send it out again, I click on the textedit and hit tab and nothing happens. I have to hit tab a second time before the text is sent out. Anyone else seeing this? Seems like a bug to me.
