I jsut downloaded Max 5 and I'm getting an error when running some patches using IRCAM's Spat patches. The strange thing is I didnt get this error initially, and was working away fine but now this error keeps occurring when opening the patch.

The procedure entry point assist_string could not be located in the dynamic link library MaxAPI.dll

I'm running a PC with Windows XP, Spat still runs fine in Max 4.6

The error started happening right after I added the Spat folder into the file paths in Max 5, so I'm pretty sure this is related to it.

Are there any other steps that need to be taken when running both versions?

It sounds like spat externals needs to be recompiled for Max 5. Someone is going to work on the finalization of spat 4 for Max 5 in the next couple of month. You might want to contact ircam directly for an ETA though.
