MAX/ MSP and the MX Laptop

October 21, 2007 | 9:14 pm

hello all,

i’m working on a project currently using max/msp. I’m interested in using the $100 laptop to run the max patch that I create. It seems to meet the minimum required specs. for Runtime. Does anyone know if it MAX/ MSP and/ or Runtime work on the $100 laptop?

from the website:
"specs
We are using components from Red Hat’s Fedora Core 6 version of the Linux operating system"

take a look at PD (or CSound, which is already installed on the machines.)

that would be a really good idea. I have got max 4.5 to run under wine in a distro of fedora (i think it was 6) So it is possible but it was really really stressful. From the news of max 5 there could one day be hope for a linux version, but until then windows or osx is the options. good luck with your experimenting though be great if you get it working.
