Max MSP + Arduino

Hello,
I am using a Pulse Sensor with an Arduino Uno. I’m curious as to if programs that you load into the Arduino from sketches in the Arduino IDE, effect the way the board will work when used in Max?
For example, I uploaded the Adruino IDE sketch provided from the http://www.pulsesensor.com site to the Arduino Uno. So now when I close that sketch and open up say the Maxuino patch, will the program I previously uploaded effect the way the Uno runs in Max? Thanks much for the help!

Hi
are you getting unexpected or unwanted behaviour from Maxuino? Or is this a more general question? There is a large repository of sketches, libraries and Firmata that come with the Arduino IDE to simplify input-output mappings, and there should be "some" uniformity across them. Each sketch, however, will map input to output differently, because there are so many different sensors types and a multitude of interaction scenarios. So the short answer is yes, different sketches will generate different functionality. Maxuino is simply reading and parsing the data that appears at the serial port. The range, nature and multiplicity of that data depends on the sketch that’s running at that time.

ps
I imagine that you were previously running the Maxuino sketch that comes with the Maxuino patch?
