max msp beginner

Hello, I’m creating a vector synthesis but i don’t know which is the Max Msp object that it’s useful to mix the different waveforms and trigger each envelope.

I will really appreciate if someone can help me

cheers

Hi,

Could you refer to objects found in tutorials and other documentation that you think are coming close to what you need?

Mixing two or more files is a simple addition in MSP [+~] or you can
use a multiple input [matrix~] which will be more flexible.

For triggering envelopes there are a number of possibilities,
depending on what you’re using to make the actual envelopes themselves.

Have you looked in the Object Thesaurus at the back of the reference
manuals for Max & MSP? Very helpful for finding objects to do a
certain task. Also, when you find a related object, check out all the
other objects listed under ‘See Also’ at the end of the reference
page for the object.

There are a variety of ways to mix in MSP. Multiple inputs will just sum if connected to a destination, but with no level control. Connecting several gain~ sliders to one output will give you control of levels.

Triggering envelopes is pretty easy, if you’re talking about adsr~. Send a 1. to trigger at full level, and a 0. to release the envelope.

The tutorials cover all this stuff.

Hi,
I’m a beginner too…I dont know much about MaxMsp… I need to work for a school project..
It could be an installation, performance etc…I was thinking of making some music…Like create my own piece of music for a game.Have some sounds recorded for a game. Could anyone suggest an idea of how this can be done?
Can it be done in MaxMsp or is there a simpler method to do so?

Thanks…!

“Could anyone suggest an idea of how this can be done?”

Unless this is a college project for credit I would make it easy for myself and download Audactiy, go to Freesound.org and search for cartoon sounds. If it is for college then bwahahahahahaha ;)

though i must say that i appreciate that most people asking here for
their college or university projects are at least honest about it.
