Max # of channels for data in gen~

March 27, 2013 | 6:58 am

Hi all,

In the available documentation for gen~ and genexpr operators, it states that the maximum number of channels allowable for a data object is 16. However, I know that its more than that at this stage as Graham Wakefield’s lovely ‘chopper/repeater’/waveset example makes use of 64. I’ve done a little limit pushing: creating a data object, setting its channels to 256, sending its channels out back to Max and monitoring it with a number~… and it seems perfectly happy. So anyone in the know, what really is the maximum number of channels data can deal with?

Thanks

Actually, I don’t think there is one anymore. I think it will work as long as your system has available memory.
