;max openfile

March 27, 2007 | 2:53 pm

Hello,
search for a way to launch a patch from another patch,
but not load it with pcontrol.

?? ;max openfile ??

The word openfile has to be followed by two symbols that specify an reference name and a file name or path name.

!! WHAT IS the "reference"!!

I seached in the archives, and doc’ but didn’t found.
if you get the answer… thanks .

Derrick.

The buildcollective and buildplugin messages to max use this reference to do their work.

try this line :

;
max openfile something C:\2PIM\2PIM-AD.mxt

(i’m currently under win xp)

"something" seems to be an ID. Give what you want, but when you want to open another patch, you need to use a different ID, even if you have closed the previous patch before…

Does this request "not load with pcontrol" makes any sense?

The only point I can see is if you want to load a patch outside of the
search path….
I guess you can do it with "; max launchbrowser "pathtothefile"". If the
file type/extension is mapped to Max it should load it into Max.
For inside the search path, pcontrol is the way to do it…
