Hello again. After solving some basic problems about making two max patches remotely communicate over internet, i’ve got another question which actually brings it to the main reason why i started trying to do the max over internet communication thing in the first place: i’m trying to send audio from a max patch to another max patch over internet. Audio transferred consists of signal coming from a mic, and/or other kind of signal generated/and or processed realtime. I tried to do it using jit.catch to convert audio into a jitter matrix, and then sending it with jit.net.send over to the remote patch where i use the jit.net.recv+jit.release combination to obtain audio back. No surprise there’s quite a big amount of latency and signal degradation. Do you have any hint or clue how to tweak the whole thing? Any possible ways to do it better? Thanks a lot!

Have you heard of tools like JackTrip (for uncompressed audio) or SoundJack (for compressed audio)? Quicktime Streaming using the Broadcaster is also an alternative. For audio, streaming Jitter matrices over the Internet (assuming consumer lines) is doomed to fail I’m afraid.
