Hello, beta 7 of the Max ToolBox is out, this will be the last release using this name, next one will have a brand new name if I can find something decent.

It is available here : http://nat.imeem.com/blogs/areO4MEW

Main changes :

The putobject feature is now working, only limitation is that it will always create objects at 9pts. This will eventually get fixed. You can customize what objects to associate with shortcuts by loading the ToolBox patch located in the extras menu or by editing the mtb_objects.txt file that is now included in the archive.

The window to customize shortcuts is now gone and replaced by a simple coll, not as elegant but you can edit the mtb_shortcuts.txt file to change shortcuts or edit the coll directly in max. ASCII only for now, I will eventually create a more elegant solution for all the settings.

Please report any bug you might find to maxtoolbox[at]studioimaginaire.com

Thanks !

Nat

Just to chime in another time: I think the original name Max Toolbox
isn’t that bad, if you think about it.
It could also be the start for adding other tools put under the same
hood….

And the other: “Max Knit Kit” I liked also…;-)

Sydney,

What does it does ? It’s speed the building of patch !

You may already know the function to align calbe or object (apple Y / control Y) ? Quite cool to help busy patchs.

But with max tool box, you can create object, align objects, semi automatically patch them together, space several your object with regular interval and a many more…

It does soo much that I’m sure you wan’t to try it asap !
That thing is so usefull it almost changed my life, really.

btw : does this is portable to windows ?

since it relies on patching and javascript, it should work without a
problem on windows. Haven’t tested it myself, though. Moreover, if I
remember well, the video on the site presents a lovely blue window so
I assume he developed it under Windows. So it works.

Yes, actually it was developed on Windows with some testing done on OSX to make sure it works fine on it. As Julien mentioned, since it’s based on Max/Javascript there is no reason it shouldn’t work on both platforms.

P.S thanks for the nice comments :)
