I am wondering if there is any Max object or external that would do phase wrapping like phasewrap~. Or is there any simple trick to implement it in Max? I can imagine it's doable but I'm looking for some simple solution...

Wrapping can be done with the % object, but requires some additional math for negative values. There is another method.

PS: I was using "% 6.283185" to phase wrap between 0 and 2pi, but that additional math to deal with negative values was what I wanted to avoid:)

A check against negative values is a lot less processor-intensive than the poltoccar/cartopol chain. The latter is three trig operations plus a square root.

If you want modulo that's always bound to positive values, you could always use an [lp.scampf] object in wrap mode.

If you just want a plug-and-play replacement for [%], try something like the following abstraction. Name it real-mathematical-modulo or something. Argument checking left as an exercise for the reader.
