I updated my imac today and now for some reason max wont open. I have tried deleting max and reinstalling but still no luck. Anyone else had the same problem?

I had the exact same thing happen - CAUTION - don't do the Apple software update that was released on 3/19 - MaxMSP 4.6.2 seems to have problems with this, and won't open. I think from previous postings that they know this and are working on it?

If you followed the link in the previous post I made in this thread you'd have found that most people (myself included) have solved this problem by installing the os update again from the combo installer on the apple website....

As it has been reported several times, this is an Apple issue, the 

solution is to download the Combo Update:
