It’ll be announced on the usual Live 9 beta forum once it’s available.

Best,

Okay, so we can get the 64-bit version of MfL, but it won’t mean a thing, from what I can tell.

L9 b61 supports 64 bit MFL – I guess they haven’t updated that bit of text yet

reading the download instructions is key for the M4L 64bit.

What do you mean? There’s very little in terms of instructions, and as Andrew pointed out, what IS there is wrong…?

Anyway, I’m keen to try this out. downloading the full set. I also noticed that the Core max for live devices showed up in the Packs page again. That’s good, they were gone for a while.

something about Max Download links in the Live Downloaded folder?
Not sure yet, still downloading, internet is SLOW at my job, 2 hours left.
Also I am on a PC at work. Seems you have to install both versions of the new Max build on PC, but only 1 for Mac.

You have to download the latest MAx from within Live’s Preferences.
Max61_beta_1d8fe8

On my Mac now, not sure how it works on PC

How to start Max 6.1 Beta in 64bit? If it is started from Live everything is fine. But when started standalone it is 32bit.
Using OS X 10.8.2.

right click on app icon. deselect open in 32bit mode.

Strange, i don’t see such option…

**i got it, in icon, right click and choose "get info". There is the option :)

i’m new to max so forgive me if i’m missing something obvious, but on a win7x64 q6600 8g ram it is very sluggish, and gave me my first blue screen on this system… also, what’s with the pace/ilok installer? i clicked "do not install" and there was some c inf file error, but it all seems to work anyway? at least a pace/ilok requirement warning should be given?

64 bit m4l? does it mean a buffer~ for example can finally access all of my systems RAM?

January 19, 2013 | 2:27 pm

@11olsen that’s exactly what it means ;-)

January 19, 2013 | 2:35 pm

very nice! does it mean it will split all m4l devices into 32bit and 64bit compatible ?

January 20, 2013 | 10:15 am

What do you mean?

January 20, 2013 | 3:40 pm

was just thinking about compatibility of existing devices. i assume max objects translate fine but some 3rd party objects might be 32bit only.O.
