[max5] fpic matrix transform broken?

May 3, 2008 | 9:43 pm

Hi again,

I tried to convert an old patch made in Max 4 that used "matrix…" messages to a fpic object to rotate it by 90 degrees. It seems that "matrix" messages to fpic object do not work anymore.

Please see the attached zip-file for an example. It contains a Max 4 patch. Click "read" and load the included 800×600 jpg. The two "matrix" messages rotate the jpg by 90 degrees and back. In the included Max 5 patch the same messages do not work.

Additionaly, fpic doesn’t understand "erase" and "autoerase" anymore. How can the fpic be forced to redraw then? Both messages are still included in "fpic.maxhelp".

Did this issue ever get sorted out? I’m having the same problem.

The matrix and scalemode messages to fpic are not currently supported in Max 5 and we have no plans to support them in the near future. Apologies for not removing them from the documentation and for not listing these as unsupported features in the documentation of Max 5 changes.
