Max5 – jit.window – bpatcher bug?

Hi Maxers
Thanks to C74 for the new edition. It is great.

I think I have found a bug but would like to check and see if this is
happening to others.

Try opening the attached (simply jit.window #1) inside a bpatcher.
Max crashes every time for me. I notice that jit.window first shows
up with a randomly generated uxxxxxxxx name, then the crash happens
so it could be something to do with a conflict between the randomly
generated file name and the #1.

Max MSP JItter 5.02
OS X 10.4.11
MacTel 2.33, 2gb

Thanks
Martin~

hi martin,

I followed your instructions and successfully reproduced your crash, so yeah it’s definitely not just you.

However, you can get round it in the short term if you tick the “embed patcher in parent” in the bpatcher inspector (spanking new max5 feature), then r-click on bpatcher -> Objects -> New view of ““, then edit the subpatcher as normal. Unfortunately you can’t reuse the subpatcher in other patchers if you do this though…

Cheers,

David S
PS you forgot to attach the attachment

Thanks David, and for the workaround.

I sent the attachment but C74′s clever mail server stole it. Here is
the attachment in body;
