Is anybody else having a problem with starting max?

a few weeks ago, I tried to install the FTM externals, but bailed on it (after running a script?). Max is really slow to start ever since. This evening, it won't work at all. . . . . . .

Last time I have checked, the FTM were not compatible with Max 5. They are in the process of updating them for September or later.
