max6 on a web server

hello,

iam planing to do an audio stream running a patch on a icecast web server for about some month.
actually iam not sure which prgramming environment to use – max or supercollider, so iam here to ask for your experiences
with audiostreaming (from a webserver) using max. it seem to be possible. what kind of options i have? and is it stable?

of course that depends on what i am going to do. the raw idea of the patch is pretty easy: in specific intervals max will playback up to 5 samples from a soundarchive (which is also placed on the server) and some effects will be added. that shouldn´t be too expensive.

is there anything important i should take care of when using max for an audio stream?
would be nice to get some feedback, critics, recommendations…

thanks, johannes

nobody?

if it makes a difference i can also use max 5 instead of max 6…
i found a max object (http://www.nullmedium.de/dev/oggpro/)
which seems to stream audio. but i need more general informations about audiostreaming with max…

is there a tutorial, paper on how to use max on a web server to stream audio … or similar projects.

thanks for help,
ciao.
johannes
