MaxForLive – live.grid – how to set initial values ?

September 3, 2012 | 2:56 pm

Hi,

I’m new to the forum but am a very long time user of Max-MSP (since 1992 …).

I would like to know how to set initial values for the live.grid object in the inspector window ? Everything I’ve tried seems to fail …

Thanks for your help !

Like with most Live devices; using the object inspector. Check the value tab, it has an option ‘Initial enable’ to enable the initial value, the next option sets the actual value.

Thanks, … but I know where to put the datas :-)

My question was how to build the datas ? Is it a list of X, Y, VALUE for each column if the live.grid object is in matrix mode ? I’ve tried this, it failed and when I’ve opened again the inspector window, the datas were then completely different ? :-(

Has anyone figured out what these values are for and how to change initial values? I have looked everywhere I could, no infos whatsoever.

Thanks

Ok, I still have no idea of the numbers, but I have managed to set initial values with the use of pattrstorage. So I save as a preset the pattern I create in live.grid, and then have a look with clientwindow. I then get the values I find there, and paste them inside the inspector window of live.grid (with Initial Enabled).
