While I have recently discovered the magic of the pattr object and preset storage (thanks to the wonderful help from this forum and its users), I have come to wonder if there are any other GUIs, or objects that can be used with pattr storage other than the gird with the dots.

At this point I am only commencing of writing all my patches and saving them, and wanted to avoid doing a bunch of work if there was indeed a different option for saving presets, as I could see my preset grid getting filled up very quickly, and becoming difficult to navigate (considering that only a small number comes up when the mouse is hovered over the dot).

What I was hoping for was a different way, or GUI that might resemble something like a drop down menu that most VSTs have, where the user can simply type in the name of the preset and recall them from there. Is there anything like that out there for this purpose?

Kind regards form a MAX nub.

you can hide pattr and preset from the user and have something else ( a menu?) controlling it.
