Any idea why this is the case? It appears it may be a simple issue of

permissions but other apps work perfectly fine under the same account.

Namely, if I start Sonar for instance, under the limited user account (read:

student account), it accesses Microsoft GS Wavetable synth fine. But if I do

the same in Max/MSP, there is no sound coming from Miditester patch or any

other custom-made patch that uses internal Msft synth.

While I am aware that the internal synth is for all intents and purposes

useless, I still wonder what may be the problem. I also tried different audio

drivers in the DSP settings but that made no difference (ASIO, WDM, MME).
