Your latency will be terrible, but it should be fine if you limit yourself to midi and outboard synths and whatnot.

hmmm, i see, thank you. i thought it would be like this. still a few years to go in this case.

I am using an eee 900 overclocked at 1.2ghz and a 2gb ram chip, I can get a goodly amount of audio and data going to an from the machine with a noticible lag only to me, for example 14-19 one minute wave files playing each with their own stutter, lores, objects all running on seperate groove~ objects.. I think they work out just fine... i also think the upper limit on the processor helps me make my coding clean and really think in different ways... also you can pin them pretty hard, I've also used ableton live at the normal processor speed with about 12 audio channels running each with effects... ymmv though...

jitter can drag it down a bit but I still can process some live video (not hd by any means but svga without a problem) and effect it
