Hello

Anyone using Maxuino,
Is there no need of Arduino coding besides just loading Firmata for controlling just Arduino PWM output from Max/msp?
I am about to just sending PWM voltage value to control analogue input on Velleman K8064 (DC control AC dimmer)

That’s right – you just load Firmata on the Arduino, then communicate directly using the Maxuino stuff.

There are also easy to use profiles for Teensy. Teensy ++, diecmilia and more. I know there’s an xbee setup on the way as well as improvements to the stepper driver patch to boot. Very nice patch, has worked great for me.

I would love to see what happens with xbee, as there should be a way to make low-cost wireless sensor units and control/receive the data through Max. As of now the systems are a lot more expensive than they potentially could be.

hello a few tips from memory:

You need to point max to the maxuino folder. that sometimes throws people when it doesnt work, somewhere in max there is a page you click a ‘+’ sign and browse to the maxuino folder. Also need to install 2 x drivers for the arduino, on xp go into system hardware and install the two drivers ( i installed 1 driver to begin with and wondered why on earth it wasnt working). You need to also down load the special maxuino firmata.

on a similar note.

I noticed today in the maxmsp shop http://cycling74.com/products/hardware/
the “OEM Universal Board”, it looks like an arduino, but a little more pricey. I wonder if anyone here uses it?

So I got Maxuino firmware loaded onto my ArduiMU board (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9956) which is basically an Arduino + 3axis gyro + 3axis accel.

I plan on using two of these, each connected to an Xbee, with an Xbee+USB shield connected to the computer and max.

Has anyone used Maxuino through an Xbee? Or more specifically in this case, with multiple Arduinos sending out serial data? (how can you tell which is which in Max).
