I was running Max 5 quite happily for a few days, and then suddenly for no reason the message object disappeared! Now there’s only a pink chevroned box with (message) inside it, with one inlet on the left. When I look in the Max window it says “message: no such object”. I looked in the Max externals folder and the message.mxo file is most definitely there. Can anyone help? I’m running Max 5 on a Mac Pro Core Duo 2 2.66Ghz, OS is Tiger.

Make sure that you don’t have a patch called message somewhere in the
search path (you can find it quickly with the FileBrowser).
