MIDI assign

December 11, 2009 | 12:21 pm

I’m making a patch with midi parameter control and I need some way of assigning the different controller numbers to various parameters within the patch. So far i’ve got this:

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

It’s not working too well, as you can see. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure if this is exactly what you mean by ‘assigning’, but it might be a start.. ?

if you make a [route] object, you can use the "set" message to it.

excuse me, bullsh*t.

if you make a [route] object without arguments, you can use the "set" message to it.

Here is another take on the whole midi-assign thing. It can be simplified, but as it is it gives you a Novation-esq learn feature, all you have to do is roll over the control you want to map and move the midi control you want to attach to it, no clicking or menus necessary.

@tim, fantastic patch, some really great techniques there. Love what you did with the dial/tab combo.
