MIDI out to Ableton

Hello,

I’ve been using max for a while but am new to MIDI manipulation, and i guess that’s probably the root of this, i’m sure, very simple issue.

Basically, there’s an issue with my BOSS FC50 foot contoller, it has 6 switches, five midi pedals, 1/5, 2/6 etc, and one to switch banks. 1 or 5…

My problem is, when i swich banks, the number which the currently activated pedal switches to is sent automatically without my pressing it. if i’m on 1, 5 is sent 2, then 6 and so on. this in effect turns five pedals into 4.

i was going to write a patch with some gates to fix this problem and just pipe the midi through it and into ableton, but i can’t get it, or any other program for that matter, to recognise MIDI out data from MAX!!

i’m using pgmout, as i get pgm signals from my controller which are recognised when the signal doesn’t go through max, i’ve tried noteout, ctlout, but nothing. here is a simple patch, with hopefully, a glaring error.

#P window setfont “Sans Serif” 9.;

#P connect 1 0 0 0;
#P connect 5 1 2 0;
#P connect 5 1 1 0;
#P window clipboard copycount 6;

I would be incredibly thankful if anyone could help me remedy this problem.

Thanks,

Si.

It seems you have been trying to post this topic in the 2004 archive forums. Moving it to Max/MSP.
