Is there a tutorial available on how to write a midi parsing/translating patcher?

I want to reprogram my Kore2 controller to send different midi CCs on click, click and hold, doubleclick etc. with buttons, sending relative CCs by hacking absolute CCs, let its LEDs blink etc...

Did some of these things with Bome's MIDI translator, but want to do it a modular way with Max now.
