MIDI setup port name: german umlauts not supported?

Max MIDI setup: German umlauts are missing (Windows XP/German)!
eg. ‘USB-Audiogert’ (correct: ‘USB-Audiogerät’)

Subsequent problems:
* abbreviations in MIDI setup are lost after closing & reopening max
* ‘port name’ can’t be used in objects. I’ve tried ‘USB-Audiogert’ and ‘USB-Audiogerät’ without success

A problem with UTF8 support (max v5.0.7)?

When using various specimen of Behringer BCF2000 I found that they appear with different names in AudiMidiSetup. So addressing them from Max, use only exactly the name of your device it is registerd with.

There is only the device name ‘USB-Audiogerät’ (=Akai APC40).
Where do I find the real registered name?
(maybe an example of Behringer BCF2000 would be helpful)

@maj: Thank you for the BCF2000 demo.
You dont’t have my problems, because there are no german umlauts in your device names.
Take a look at my screenshot below (port.JPG).
I’ve tried all kind of combinations but it doesn’t work:
eg. port “USB-Audiogert” or port “USB-Audiogerät”
(unlike “In From MIDI Yoke: 2″ – no problem here)

Still not working with MAX runtime Version 5.1.0(41208)!

Wrong = ‘USB-Audiogert’
Right = ‘USB-Audiogerät’
