MIDI setup save problem

MIDI setup save problem

I have the current version of MAX/MSP and OSX and have
not been able to save my MIDI setup. I assign my
external hardware letters in MIDI setup and then save
it to the documents folder. It works for a couple of
days but then I notice that the assignments are no
longer in my patches and MIDI setup. I used the disc
utility as tech support suggested but it did not fix
the problem. I am at a loss. Does anyone know about
this problem and a fix?
Thank you.

Hi Jeffrey,
Sometimes Disk Utility doesn’t quite do the job with permissions. For
this, it is often more beneficial to run “fsck” at startup. For info on
how to do this:

You might also try deleting your preferences, which are located in
Users/Username/Library/Preferences/Max 4 Preferences.

If that doesn’t sort you out, send a message to support@cycling74.com

Andrew B.
I tried the fsck method and I’m not sure what
happened. I did follow everything to a tee. I still
have the problem. Any other suggestions? Is this a
wide spread problem? Is it only me?

Hi Jeffrey
Please email support@cycling74.com so we can continue to help you track
this issue down. There is apparently something specific to your setup
that is causing you problems.

Try to be as specific as possible about exactly what the issue is, and the
steps you have already taken to remedy it.

Cheers,
Andrew B.
