midi to sound file?

December 16, 2009 | 11:52 pm

Hi all,

I’d like to record a sound piece into a wav file, but i ony have midi objects (makenote, noteout, etc) in my patch.
Even if midi is data, and not proper sound, is there a way (even a tricky one) to record my piece into an audible format?
thanks (a lot)!!!

What midi device do you use to play your sound?

one way is to use a program like soundflower or audio jack to reroute the audio-out into a recording program (or back into max and into sfrecord~ or something)

thanks everyone!
@ hans: i’m new to midi, and i’m actually using osX default sounds. Is there a way to add more interesting ones?
@ MIB: downloading soundflower. thanks alot! I’d like to do that without an jack reroute.
