Hopefully this is a quick fix, but I have a patch that is sending midi data to a C program. Someone else wrote the C program with me, since I'm new to that language, but I'm pretty sure the problem is with Max and not the C program. It is waiting to receive information in raw midibytes 1 and 2, but it is only looking for the bytes that follow the status byte 160 [a0].

So I hooked up a pack object to a message box hooked into midiout using two changeable arguments, but it seems to be mixing up the order of the bytes somehow. Is it the pack object? Can someone show me a better way to hook this up? Thank you for your help. I've included the output portion of the patch if it helps.

The max program does not contain any errors, I'd suppose. I guess you have to take another look at the C code.

Hey Thanks!! That seems to have solved it. I didn't know about pak, now I can stop using my ghetto Change-bang method for triggering from right inlets. And I wasn't sure if midiformat would assign the right status byte or not, hadn't tried it. You rule, appreciate it!
