missing cg.dll ??

Since today morning, i got a “max.exe error : this application couldn’t
start, missing cg.dll” ?!! What does it means ? Max still works, despite
of this strange warning… Could this be because of my new visual studio
2005 installation ?

f.e

windows xp sp2 | max 457

cg.dll refers to the Nvidia Cg shader library. I can’t remember where
it goes on windows, but on OSX, it’s usually in the jit-externs
folder. It’s a jitter thing, not a max or MSP thing. Can’t say I
know what would have caused it to disappear.

Dear C74,

i really have a problem with this and really need an answer. The Max i
have on another computer doesn’t have any cg.dll in path, nor in
windows/system32. So, do i’ve destroyed my Max app during the last crash
(running max.invclip~ by m.marcoll), do mvs 2005 screwed something up,
do i have a virus, do i have to throw my laptop through the window ?

thanks a lot and best regards

Hi f.e.
If you still have problems, email support@cycling74.com. They will be
able to give you better 1-on-1 support as it seems your problem is
specific to your system.

best,
